From September 2026, our new dance class schedule will bring together a full mix of training options for Ballroom and Latin dancers, including Ballroom and Latin Masterclasses, Medal Test Preparation Classes, Open Practice Sessions, Social Dance Classes, and Private Lessons.
Whether the aim is to polish technique, prepare for a medal test, build floor confidence, or simply enjoy more time dancing, the new schedule gives a clear structure for the months ahead.

A new season of focused Ballroom and Latin training
The September 2026 schedule has been designed to support regular progress. Each class type has a different purpose, so dancers can choose the right mix for their current level, goals, and available time.
The core areas of the schedule are:
Social Dance Classes - Every Friday
Open Practice Sessions - Every Friday
Ballroom and Latin Masterclasses - 1st & 3rd Friday of the month from 18th Sept
Medal Test Preparation Classes - 1st and 3rd Friday of the month from 18th Sept
Private Lessons - Every Fri with both Sergei & Adele
Together, these options create a balanced training week. Technique classes help with detail. Practice sessions help with repetition. Social classes keep dancing enjoyable and relaxed. Private lessons give focused individual feedback.
Ballroom and Latin Masterclasses will focus on quality
The Ballroom and Latin Masterclasses are for dancers who want to improve the finer points of their dancing. These sessions will look beyond basic steps and spend more time on body action, timing, posture, frame, foot pressure, musicality, and partner connection.
A typical masterclass might focus on one dance, one technique theme, or one section of choreography. That gives enough time to explain the idea, practise it slowly, and then apply it to real dancing.
Ballroom topics may include:
Waltz swing and rise
Foxtrot continuity and body flight
Tango hold, shape, and staccato action
Quickstep timing and floorcraft
Latin topics may include:
Cha Cha rhythm and hip action
Rumba timing and control
Samba bounce and body rhythm
Jive sharpness, retraction, and stamina
Paso Doble shaping and Spanish line
These classes suit dancers who already know some steps and want to dance them better. The focus will be on quality, not quantity. A small technical change can make a familiar routine feel completely different.
The Latin Masterclasses will be on:
Fri 2nd Oct, Fri 6th Nov and Fri 4th Dec
The Ballroom Masterclasses will be on:
Fri 18th Sept, Fri 16th Oct, Fri 20th Nov and Fri 18th Dec

Medal Test Preparation Classes will build confidence
Medal tests can be a brilliant goal. They give dancers a clear target, a reason to practise, and a way to measure improvement over time.
Our Medal Test Preparation Classes will help dancers prepare in a structured way. These sessions will cover the dances, figures, timing, presentation, and exam-style expectations needed for the relevant level.
The aim is not just to “get through” a test. The aim is to feel prepared when the music starts.
Medal test preparation may include:
Checking routines and step accuracy
Improving timing and rhythm
Building consistent posture and hold
Practising starts, finishes, and transitions
Dancing under light exam-style pressure
Understanding what assessors usually look for
These classes are especially useful for dancers who know their routines but still feel uncertain when dancing without constant guidance. Repetition helps build trust in the body. Clear feedback helps remove guesswork.
A good medal test performance comes from preparation that feels calm, steady, and familiar.
The Medal Test classes will be on:
Fri 18th Sept, Fri 2nd Oct, Fri 16th Oct, Fri 6th Nov, Fri 20th Nov, Fri 4th Dec, Fri 18th Dec
Open Practice Sessions give dancers time to repeat and refine
Classes are valuable, but progress often happens in practice. Open Practice Sessions give dancers room to work on their own routines, movement, timing, and partnership without the pressure of learning new material every minute.
These sessions are ideal for:
Repeating class material from earlier in the week
Practising medal test routines
Working with a partner on lead and follow
Improving floorcraft
Building stamina across several dances
Getting more comfortable dancing to full tracks
Open practice is also useful because it reveals what still needs work. A step that feels clear in class can feel different when the music plays, the floor is shared, and there is no one counting aloud.
That is part of the process. Practice turns knowledge into habit.
The Open Practice Sessions are every Friday.
8.45pm - 10.15pm
Social Dance Classes will keep the joy in dancing
Technique matters, but dancing should also feel enjoyable. Our Social Dance Classes will focus on relaxed, usable dancing for real social settings.
These classes are ideal for dancers who want to feel more confident at practice nights, tea dances, events, or casual social dance occasions. The emphasis will be on clear timing, simple floorcraft, comfortable partnering, and routines that work well with other couples nearby.
Social classes may include a mix of Ballroom and Latin dances, depending on the group and the term plan. The atmosphere will be friendly and practical, with enough structure to learn properly and enough space to enjoy the music.
Social dancing also improves many technical skills naturally. Dancers learn to adjust, listen, recover from mistakes, and keep moving. Those skills matter in every style of Ballroom and Latin.
The Social Dance Classes are every Friday.
7pm - 8.30pm
Private Lessons will support individual goals
Private Lessons remain the most flexible option in the new schedule. A private lesson can be shaped around one dancer, one couple, one goal, or one problem area.
Dancers often use private lessons for:
Medal test preparation
Competition or performance routines
Technique correction
Partnership work
Confidence building
Wedding dance preparation
Catching up after time away from dancing
Private lessons can also work well alongside group classes. A masterclass may introduce a technical idea, then a private lesson can help apply it to a specific routine or partnership.
For dancers who want more personal attention, this is the best place to ask questions, slow the movement down, and receive detailed feedback.
Choosing the right mix of classes
The best schedule depends on the goal.
A dancer preparing for a medal test may combine a Medal Test Preparation Class, an Open Practice Session, and occasional Private Lessons. A dancer focused on technique may choose Masterclasses and practice time. Someone returning after a break may start with Social Dance Classes, then add more focused training when ready.
A balanced week might include:
Goal | Best class mix |
Improve technique | Masterclasses plus Open Practice |
Prepare for a medal test | Medal Test Preparation plus Private Lessons |
Build confidence | Social Dance Classes plus Open Practice |
Refine a partnership | Private Lessons plus regular practice |
Enjoy more dancing | Social Dance Classes and selected Masterclasses |
There is no single perfect route. Consistency matters most. Regular dancing, even in small amounts, builds confidence faster than occasional bursts of intense training.
The new September 2026 schedule gives Ballroom and Latin dancers a clear path into the next term. Pick the classes that match the goal, build a routine that feels realistic, and let the dancing develop week by week.
